This year, in addition to the ‘Out of This World’ Nova Award, scouts will also complete ‘Adventures in Science’ and ‘Aquanaut’ Adventures. On Thursday evening, the scouts will also have an evening meal in Boy Scout camp, and be able to watch the Boy Scout Family Night catapult competition, canoe race, Scoutmaster belly flop competition, and the normal shenanigans that occur in Boy Scout Camp. We do this so as to expose the Webelos and AOL Scouts to Boy Scout Camp, to ease apprehensions at Cross Over, and to build excitement about becoming a Boy Scout. Scouts will attempt the BSA Swim Test, and earn the Aquanaut elective during a visit to Boy Scout Camp on the next day as well. We will be launching rockets, learning about Astronomy, and generally just having a good time. The Climbing/Rappelling Tower will be open one of the days, as long as the weather cooperates. There is also free time planned for fishing, hiking, or just simply spending some time with friends.
