Cub Scout Shooting Sports Day

Ask any Cub Scout “What’s the favorite thing you do in Scouting?”  Chances are you’ll get shoot BB Guns and Archery in your first three responses!  

Join us on Saturday, Aurgust 3rd th at First Baptist Church in Gastonia.  We’ll have the all the ranges set up and your youth can spend the day shooting BB Guns, firing arrows on the Archery range or hitting the target on the Sling Shot range.

Every youth will be learning safety techniques on all ranges, will learn how to properly handle BB Guns, Archery equipment and Sling Shots, and will learn some history about each of the 3 shooting sports.  Those Cub Scouts who complete the course will earn the NEW Cub Scout shooting sports adventures.

  • 1 adult chaperone is required for every Tiger AND Wolf Scout (entering 1st or 2nd grade in Fall of 2024).
  • For all other Scouts (Wolf through Arrow of Light), 1 adult chaperone minimum is required for every 5 Scouts attending for a Pack.
  • If you plan on switching out chaperones during the day, you MUST give advance notice and all participants (adults & youth) MUST check in and out at the registration area.
  • All Participants MUST provide a BSA Medical Form with sections A & B completed
