Council Program Leadership
Meet the 2017 Piedmont Council Program Leadership Team. Headed up by Vice President of Program, Dr. Dean Perry of Rutherfordton in the Chimney Rock District, the team is made up of 5 of the most experienced Scouters in the Piedmont Council.
Activities and Civic Service is chaired by Mr. Peter Browne of Mooresville in the Gemstone District. Their responsibility is helping Scout Units maximize their service work. The focus of the committee this year is building up contacts in the communities we serve.
Advancement and Recognition is chaired by Mr. Charles Garwood of Shelby in the Battleground District. In addition to overseeing the Eagle Board of Review process, they manage Council events such as Merit Badge University and the Eagle Banquet. Annually they approve the Merit Badge Counselor list and insure the quality of the Advancement program at Summer Camp.
Camping and Outdoor Program is chaired by Mr. Rick Ayers of Denver in the Heartland District. This committee oversees sub committees that manage the following: Aquatics, COPE and Climbing, High Adventure, and Shooting Sports. They are also responsible for all of the council Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Venture Scout events at Camp Bud Schiele throughout the year.
Training is chaired by Mr. Greg Cook of Hudson in the Battleground District. Their focus is the many training opportunities that the Piedmont Council provides throughout the year. From Leader Specific to Wood Badge, they make it happen.
