Leave No Trace Trainer Course

What: Scouting America have always taught conservation, care of our environment, and resources. This course will give participants the knowledge to teach the Leave No Trace Principles as well as serving their units and districts as Leave No Trace Level I Trainers and Outdoor Ethic Guides. As part of the curriculum, participants are required to lead a fifteen minute presentation on a pre-assigned Leave No Trace Principle.

Who: Adult Scouters and scout youth age 14+ including Scouts BSA Scouts, Venturers, Sea Scouts, advanced training course instructors (Woodbadge, NYLT, Kodiak, etc), supplemental training course instructors (BALOO, IOLS, etc.) Camp Directors and staff, those interested in outdoor education.

When: The course will begin at 8 AM sharp, Saturday May 31st, 2025, please eat breakfast before you arrive. Saturday lunch will be served as well as supper and breakfast Sunday morning. The course will end Sunday, June 1st, 2025 at 10:30 AM. YOU MUST ATTEND and PARTICIPATE IN ALL SESSIONS, WHICH WILL RUN THROUGH Sunday at 10:30 AM.

Cost: Registration is $75.00 paid to Piedmont Council using the online registration site available at the Piedmont Council website. The price covers all food, Leave No Trace Trainer program and training materials. Certificate and recognition as a Leave No Trace Level 1 Trainer from the center and educational support to conduct your own Leave No Trace Awareness Workshops, BSA Outdoor Ethics Orientation, and BSA Leave No Trace 101 courses.
