What: The Boy Scouts of America have always taught conservation, care of our environment & resources. This course will give participants the knowledge to teach Leave No Trace Principles as well as serving their units and districts as Leave No Trace Trainers and Outdoor Ethic Guides. As part of the curriculum, participants are required to lead a 15 minute presentation on a pre-assigned Leave No Trace Principle.
Who: Adult Scouters and Scout youth age 14+ including Boy Scouts, Venturers, Sea Scouts, advanced training course instructors (Wood Badge, NYLT, Kodiak, etc.), supplemental training course instructors (BALOO, ILOS, etc.) Camp Directors and staff, those interested in outdoor education.
When: The course will begin 8:00am sharp Saturday, April 7th. You may arrive Friday after 5:30pm to camp for early start Saturday morning. Saturday morning breakfast will be provided @ 7:00am. for those that arrived Friday evening. Mid-morning snack for those who arrive Saturday morning. The course will end Sunday at 12:00pm. You must attend and participate in all sessions.
Cost: Registration is $60 paid to Piedmont Council using the online registration available at
(http://piedmontcouncilbsa.org.) The price covers all food, Leave No Trace program and training materials, Certificate and recognition as a Leave No Trace Trainer from the Center and educational support to conduct your own Leave No Trace Awareness Workshops, BSA Outdoor Ethics Orientation, & BSA Leave No Trace 101 courses.
Pre-req: You must take the online LNT Awareness Course (http://lnt.org/learn/online:awarenesscourse) prior to coming to class and submit the training certificate.
