Jamboree On the Air
2018 JAMBOREE-ON-THE-INTERNET (JOTI)
Login To A World Wide Jamboree the weekend of October 19-21! JOTI participation can be used to fulfill requirements for the Citizenship in the World or the Computers merit badge, as well as the International Spirit Award.
The event is open to all Scouts: Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturing, Sea Scouts, and Explorers. Scouts may participate at home, or units can host their own JOTI events.
How to participate in JOTI
STEP 1 - While experienced adult volunteers will be monitoring communications in order to help ensure a safe environment for all participants, it's important that all participants follow the Internet Safety section of the Guide to Safe Scouting.
- Always have your parent or guardian’s permission to go online.
- Never give anyone online your real last name, phone numbers, your parent/guardian’s workplaces, the name or location of your school, or your email and home address.
- Your JOTI conversations can include such information as: first name, general location (i.e. country/state), Scout rank, age, and hobbies.
STEP 2 - Connect to ScoutLink by going to: webchat.scoutlink.net
STEP 3 - Enter a Nickname to use online.
STEP 4 - By default, your Channel will be set to English (#english), so just click the Start button after entering your Nickname. That’s it! You’ll be placed in a Chat Room with Scouts from around the World after you click the Start button.
