The Foothills District Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) will start at 5:15 pm on Friday, August 6 and run through 5:15 pm Saturday, August 7, 2021. Registration runs from 5:15 - 6:00 pm on Friday. The course schedule and other details are outlined below.
Cost: $10 per person
Please bring both official field uniform "Class A" and Unit or other appropriate Scouting T-shirt "Class B." Official field uniform should be worn for arrival, assemblies and ceremonies. For active sessions, plan to wear comfortable Scouting clothing. Bring all appropriate camping gear for a weekend camping experience -- a packing list is attached for your reference. Current BSA Annual Health Medical Record will be required, along with Covid Waivers and/or health check forms which may be required. If you have a compass, please bring it -- but if you need one, let us know. There are bathroom facilities at this location and also clean drinking water. There is very convenient parking, too.
Meals: Two meals & snacks will be provided. Please be sure to eat supper on your own en route Friday. We will serve a cracker barrel Friday evening. Saturday morning, patrols will cook their own breakfast. If you have gear like single burner stoves, coffee pots or items you'd like to bring to enhance your Patrol's breakfast experience, feel free to do so. Please be sure to bring your own mess kit and water bottle, coffee cups, etc. Saturday lunch & an afternoon snack will be provided. Then we will do our best to wind up by 5:15 so everyone can get home. So, NO Saturday supper.
