Subject:             New Cub Scout 2010 program – Pilot Pack Trainer Specific Training and Summit

Meeting:            Thursday, 26-August 2010 – 6:30 to 9:00PM Lincolnton First United Methodist Church

Importance:    Timely distribution and training of new Cub Scout Pack and Den Method information

Dear Pack Trainers/District Training Team Members,

Starting this fall, the Boy Scouts of America has changed the method of which it is suggested to run the Cub Scout program.

The new program called CS2010, incorporates an advancement based meeting plan while maintaining fun and adventure in Cub Scouting.   For some units, this is not a far departure in what you may have found; already, in ensuring a quality program by conducting den meetings around advancement targets.

Great News! Now everyone can tap into this exciting and well organized method. On Thursday, 26-August, we are conducting training session(s) for the Pack Trainer Specifics. This session will be required for all sitting and new Pack Trainers for 2010. During this session, CD’s (no charge) will be distributed including scanned, electronic media of the training materials and handbooks.

All current and new Pack Trainers are asked to attend. The meeting is open to any district training team member or other Cub leaders that wish to attend; including Pack committee members. The actual training element to be presented will be geared for Pack Trainers.

At the conclusion of this meeting, there will be an open forum discussion for feedback and other comments to review implementation. Please make time to attend. In order to provide enough materials and space, please RSVP to either below before 24-August. Before attending, please be sure you are current with Youth Protection, Fast Start and This is Scouting Training. This be completed online through the Piedmont Council website or see your training team in your district.

In cheerful service,

Mike Strader
