One of the premier Boy Scout camps in the Southern Region, Camp Bud Schiele has a long tradition of serving Scouts from across the Piedmont Council as well as Scouts from as far away as Florida.

Located in the foothills of Western North Carolina, Camp Bud Schiele serves over 2,000 scouts per summer and an additional 500 leaders. Centered around a beautiful 31 acre lake, Camp Bud Schiele offers a full program of swimming, boating, target shooting, handicrafts, outdoor skills, climbing, C.O.P.E., high adventure, and a first year camper program.

Opened 1982, Camp Bud Schiele has always focused on the area of quality staffing and is committed to a well-trained staff to offer scouts the best possible Scouting experience. We are determined that if you attend Camp Bud Schiele, not only will you enjoy one of the finest camps in the Southern Region with quality facilities, but a stronger commitment to the scouts and the programs that we offer.

The camp has come a long way since it's beginning days on Lake Lanier near Tryon, North Carolina in 1925. Over the years, through the generosity and support of the community, camp has grown to it's present size of 1045 acres purchased in 1974. +

In 1948 only 511 boys attend camp. Currently, Camp Bud Schiele camps over 2000 scouts attend camp. In additional camp is now being used almost every weekend by Scouts and non-scout groups, pushing total yearly attendance over 7,300.

Today, Camp Bud schiele offers adventures that last a lifetime. It is a facility which includes a wide variety of aquatics program like snorkeling, skiing, canoeing, and kayaking. Program facilities such as nature, handicraft, campsites, dinning hall, COPE course, repelling/climbing tower and shooting ranges are state of the art and some of the best in the southern region.
